There aren&rsquo;t any fussy ingredients that you&rsquo;ll use once and forget about in the back of the pantry. Coconut aminos (gf version of soy sauce), nut butter, rice vinegar and honey are the only pantry ingredients you need!<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Low carb:<\/strong> if you&rsquo;re balancing blood sugar or being mindful of the carbs you&rsquo;re eating, this recipe is a great option. It has 15 net carbs in a serving, but if you want to lower that you can omit the honey so it&rsquo;s 12 net carbs. If you aren&rsquo;t gluten free and have soy sauce on hand you can use that.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Nut butter: <\/strong>we used peanut butter, but cashew butter works great for paleo or whole30 options.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Rice wine vinegar:<\/strong> this adds acid to balance out the sauce.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Sriracha:<\/strong> this is where the spicy comes into play and can be customized to your taste! If you like spicy food you can add more or omit it if you don&rsquo;t like spice.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Ground pork:<\/strong> it has minimal fat so it doesn&rsquo;t need drained after cooking. Love that for an easy, one-pot meal! You could also use ground chicken, but it won&rsquo;t have as much fat\/flavor.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Water chestnuts:<\/strong> these come in a can in the international aisle in the grocery store.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Veggies:<\/strong> red pepper, carrots, yellow onion<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Butter lettuce:<\/strong> this is the best lettuce for wraps in my opinion!<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>To top<\/strong>: scallions, cilantro and crushed peanuts<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n<div class=\"block-tip cwp-inner has-background has-senary-background-color\">\n\n<p class=\"block-tip__title\">Do you love ground pork? It&rsquo;s crisp and has the perfect circular shape to hold all the filling. I like to double up the lettuce to make sure it doesn&rsquo;t break when you&rsquo;re eating it. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>How to get it off the core:<\/strong> remove any out layers of lettuce that are browning or old then cut the piece of lettuce at the stem.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We also like to use <strong>romaine lettuce<\/strong> if we have that on hand!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-must-read-recipe-tips\">Must-Read Recipe Tips<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Make the pork extra crispy: <\/strong>when you&rsquo;re browning the ground pork, don&rsquo;t continually stir it. Let it sit in the sizzling hot oil for a bit to get brown and crispy then stir and do the same thing. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Serve with sauce:<\/strong> while the pork filling is simmering, whisk together some honey, coconut aminos, nut butter and sriracha for a quick sauce to drizzle on top.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Only pull off the lettuce you need: <\/strong>to keep the lettuce fresh, only use the lettuce leaves you need while you&rsquo;re making the cups. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Perfect for meal prep:<\/strong> If you&rsquo;re making these as meal prep, you can store the lettuce separately until you&rsquo;re ready to assemble and eat.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-can-i-make-pork-lettuce-wraps-ahead-of-time\">Can I Make Pork Lettuce Wraps Ahead of Time?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Yes, this is a great meal-prep dinner! <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Store the filling in an airtight container in the fridge for 4&ndash;5 days<\/strong>, and keep the <strong>lettuce leaves separate<\/strong> (wrapped in a paper towel in a container or bag) so they stay crisp. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Reheat the filling in a skillet or the microwave, then assemble right before eating.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-serving-suggestions\">Serving Suggestions<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>These lettuce wraps are delicious on their own, but you could add a side of <a href=\"https:\/\/whatmollymade.com\/coconut-rice\/\">coconut rice<\/a> or put the rice right inside the lettuce cups.
